In this video i will be completing Gran Turismo 2 on PS1 with a challenge in place where i cannot spend any Credits/Money whatsoever. For these types of Challenge Runs in Gran Turismo, the game is considered completed or beaten if you sucessfully win the Gran Turismo World Cup which unlocks the game end credits. Since i cannot buy any cars, i can only use cars that i get as prizes like after races or by getting a Gold Trophy on every single license test of a particular category. For the purposes of this video i started the video after i off-screen got all licenses with a Gold Trophy as it takes alot of Trial and Error to do so ( even more so on GT2 as theres way more licenses). As a side Challenge i wont accept any less than a 100% win ratio as well in my run by getting a 1st place finish on every race.
Unlike the 1st Gran Turismo game, Gran Turismo 2 has a WIDE selection of races where you can easily get prize cars but at the same time, Horsepower restrictions in races means that you will need quite a few cars to even be able to get to the Gran Turismo World Championship. Thankfully the licenses Gold Trophy prize cars covers most of the Horsepower limitations so i dont need to go out of my way too much just to get the necessary cars for each horsepower restriction. Just like in Gran Turismo, Race Cars in Gran Turismo 2 will already come pre equipped with pretty much everything in the tune shop besides Traction Control and Active Stability Control so i can tune then to make certain races even easier but most races i use prize cars that are normal cars so they always come in bare stock. With the way i actually did this challenge i could say i went for minimal outside license tests prize cars as well as i definitely could have made some races easier by getting a better car closer to the Horsepower limit but i did it like that as a added optional challenge in a way. For those wondering, its totally possible to do this challenge by just getting all Gold on the B license but since i can get everything Gold i just figured to might as well go for it just to show off XD!
