The family of an RAF pilot shot down in World War Two have finally discovered the location of his final resting place after 71 years of not knowing. Flying Officer Derek Allen had the making of a fighter ace. In eight days of action he was awarded a gallantry medal and was credited with four outright and three shared enemy kills. But his promising military career was cut short when his Hurricane was hit over France, crashing on farmland on May 18 1940.
