Gravity Circuit: Part 4: Ray/Optic Circuit Stage (100% Completed)
The second Rebel Circuit stage I take on is the Steelworks, led by Ray, the Optic Circuit.
Kernel fears that if Ray isn't stopped at the Steelworks, important equipment could overheat and explode.
And... to him, that would mean needing a REALLY tall ladder to still reach it.
(Get used to Kernel's skewered priorities and Kai's annoyed reactions to them.)
----------
This stage is the fire stage of the game, and like with the spikes here, the lava you encounter here won't kill you instant like it would've in Mega Man.
That said, you will often need to use your Hookshot to swing yourself around to avoid the lava. You can even use it to hitch a ride on moving platforms.
There are still hidden rooms in this stage, guarded by cracked wall, but a lot of cracked spots here will be the pipes you need to blast open to continue through the whole stage.
The biggest hazard, however, besides the lava, are the beams that can blast their way through pipes whenever you touch their lines of sight. Make like Quick Man to try and dodge them (and don't worry, these aren't insta-kill either).
----------
When encountering Optic Circuit, Ray turns out to be quite a hothead. Literally! He always had a thought of commanding the "lesser" common bots rather than protecting them.
His Burst Technique is a massive Burning Laser that can cover the whole screen. He also has a beam attack like those beam hazards from earlier.
----------
Bringing back the Optic Circuit, Kernel just has to bemoan that the extra heat from Ray's actions probably could've been used to heat up his office.
If you found the Palette Chip for Ray's stage, Prim can give you a Hot-Headed Red alt color that gives you Optic Circuit's Float Beam. Beating Ray will also have Nega sell Ray's Function Overload and Erupting Beam as Burst Techniques.
Even before that, each time you beat a Rebel Circuit, go talk to Nega and he'll have a rather deep analysis on each of their personalities and how they were before they became Rebels... As if Nega already new of them before... Hmmm...
Fix will be the NPC you get to see at HQ if you managed to rescue him from Optic Circuit's stage. He'll like to sit down and chill out.
