Game Review & Impressions
---------------------------------------------------
Taito is on top bullet-hell form with Grid Seeker, a visually attractive vertically scrolling shoot 'em up from the early 90s.

On a surface level, the game features all the things you'd expect to find in this sort of game: multiple weapon power-ups; hordes of enemies; over-powered end-of-level bosses.

It has these in spades, of course, but it also has a trick up its sleeve in the form of the super charge system. This involves charging your craft's mega-weapon by absorbing enemy energy projectiles. By locking your satellite weapons in front of your ship to form a protective barrier, you can funnel these blasts and charge up the attack. This becomes an important tactic during boss battles where you'll really need to take advantage of the super weapon as often as you can.

The game also features some impressive pseudo-3D backgrounds and parallax effects when strafing across the playfield, lending the game a real sense of depth. Overall, this is a pretty decent shmup and worth checking out, particularly if you enjoy a stiff challenge.
