2Here you have "Growl" the arcade version. This is an interesting spin on the best em up game. Instead of rescuing the city or someone you are trying to save animals! This game features four selectable characters and two player co-op gameplay. The enemies are more often than not, overwhelming as there are many of them attacking you at the same time! They attack you from both sides and even if you try to corner yourself so that they are only on one side they somehow find a way around the opposite side of you! So beware! If you were to play this in the arcade machine form you would spend many, many credits as you only get one life per credit. Talk about your quarter munchers! Note that there is a home version of this game on Sega Genesis if you want to get a feel for what this game is like but note that the difficulty is much greater in my opinion on this version than the Genesis. Probably was a design decision to get more money out of potential players. There are weapons you can pick up along the way as well as power moves you can make by pressing the attack and jump buttons together but the moves have a limited range. All in all, if you like beat em ups, like the idea of saving wildlife and have a friend to play this with, I recommend you giving Growl a try. If you can find the arcade, prepare to spend some money but otherwise emulation is the way to go. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy the gameplay of the arcade version of Growl.
