Around 50 minutes for this progress shown, including dying alot on the Wolf Chief indian boss toward the end. This is the Maximum difficulty setting. I recently beat and did a tutorial on normal mode for this game, which was INSANE to beat. This is definately another level of difficulty as bullets are now faster and much more frequent from what I can tell.
The first death of each checkpoint is left in this time. This is a better way to edit the game as it becomes choppy when everything is spliced together and all the deaths are removed. I will only show the first death of each checkpoint, so that the video doesnt drag on for many hours. The raw footage will be posted seperately.
This is ROM version "US,860408" . The main difference with this ROM from the version I beat on "Normal" is that the order of the third and sixth stages is swapped. Meaning the insanely difficult Wolf Chief is now the third boss, and the Ninja is the 6th boss. The good thing is that the Wolf Chief was the hardest boss in the game for me. So if I get past this part I have a good chance of clearing this difficulty mode. There is also a trick for the 5th boss that I did not know originally, which should work well. I had one attempt where I got the Indian down to half health, but it can still take many hours to break through this boss. On normal it took over 9 hours for me to beat that one boss checkpoint.
