Guy STRUGGLES to FIND this Movie!
Sometimes, fictional content can be really hard to find, and the effort that someone goes through to watch fictional content is downright commendable, if a bit inefficient.
There's this movie called "All We Imagine as Light" that this person from Letterboxd really wants to see, but it requires a lot of hoops to get through. Let's put it that way.
This person wanted to watch the movie in theaters, but the only theater playing is about 4 hours from where the person lived. It turns out that this movie has already been released on Disney+, but only in India. The person got a VPN and attempted to sign on Disney+, but it requires an Indian phone number.
Spoofing a virtual number doesn't work. So, he just hired someone on Fiverr to buy a SIM card. He used the SIM card to sign in to Disney+ and finally watched the movie. Jeez. All that trouble to watch one movie.
Now, this is definitely a point against streaming because a movie that should've been on the same website is not viewable in others due to stupid geo restrictions, but I wonder if he would be able to achieve the same results if he just used an American Disney+ account but turn the VPN on to India.
I don't use Disney+. So, I don't really know if that works, but you know what I do know how to do? Sail the seven seas. Let me sail the seas for a bit and see what's happening.
Okay, I do have to admit. This one is a lot tougher to find than your average movie, but if you look hard enough, it's definitely there in HD quality with all the appropriate subtitles, and I don't have to pay some Indian for a SIM card.
So, in conclusion, depending on the show that you're looking for, it might be easier to pay for a subscription, or it might be easier to sail the seas for it. Either way, doing whatever this guy is doing is a bit inefficient, to say the least. But hey, at least it works, right?
