Guy who has no idea about Roguelike games tries Warriors: Abyss.
I haven't really played a Roguelike game before in my entire life...until now due to the surprise release of Warriors: Abyss. Unlike other Warriors spin-offs, Abyss is a roguelike game released on the 12th of February (Straight AFTER the State of Play). After playing Abyss for a couple of hours, since I got the game yesterday, I admit, in my own opinion, Abyss is really fun.
Anyway, about how this game works: All you have to do is to traverse your way down into hell (Yes, I'm serious), defeating many enemies on your way until you get to Gouma, the big cheese. However, if you die under any circumstances on your way there, you'll have to go back to the very beginning, like any other Rogulike games, and start over. I didn't realize that until I ended up getting killed by the first boss during my first attempt.
Speaking of Xiahou Yuan, he uses his Bow and Rod weapon from Dynasty Warriors 8. I have to say, due to Abyss' mechanics, and how the game works, he's really good to use since you can simply input his strong attacks. The additional support heroes you can get help the bonus, especially if you get a hero with the Slay element. Good god, any character with the Slay element works really well over here since that element comes in handy when dealing with enemies and/or bossess.
Considering this video was one of my many attempts to beat Gouma, I did pretty good as Xiahou Yuan, beating the first boss, but when I got to the second boss, which was the Magadori, I got killed after I fucked up one of my dodge attempts since I side-stepped directly into one of that skeletal bird's attacks. Seriously, the dodge mechanic in this game is ridiculous unless you upgrade to have 2 or more dodge attempts.
but enough of that, in the coming days, or weeks, expect more videos of Warriors: Abyss, as I try my best to get rid of Gouma, all while getting used to the mechanics since ,well, it's a Roguelike game after all.
Thanks for watching, and I'll see you guys later.
Note: the thumbnail is his DW3 design, though in the form of Dynasty Warriors 9. I think the mobile game Apuri also had that.
2nd Note: Just like the OTR video, this video was also recorded using Steam's Game Recording.
