Mortal Sin is an Indie, Hack and Slash, First Person RPG Dungeon Crawler all about the Hack and the Slash!

Major Lvl Update:
237 new handmade rooms stitched together, with randomized monster placements, traps, and rewards.
Let us see how this compares to the old procedural gen ways!

Stylish Dungeon Combat! + Dismemberment!
Fun!
Chop and smash your enemies to pieces as you cut them down.
If you take off an arm, they can’t use it to hurt you.
They won’t be moving very fast if they’re missing a leg!
Take off their head to confuse them greatly!
How and where you hit your foes really matters here; good!

Beyond all the limb chopping, you also have a special set of skills, the kind of skills that makes you a nightmare to all the blue monsters opposing you.
You have a power attack, and even a whirlwind, but you have to charge em up; your weapon will flash orange when it is ready; ready to kill!
You can run around using your bash, which is actually a bash dash, letting you push past enemies; overrunning them.
You are also unlimited by stamina here, only your class power ability has a cooldown, so keep swinging, as Killing enemies reduces your ability cooldown!
You can even block if you want, and if you time it right, you can stun your foe; handy.

The weapons and gear in Mortal Sin have durability; this is good, as this means they can be much more powerful, as they can break, and the player will value them more, and maybe aim to try to find a way to repair them, maybe using their potions of wizard oil.
The weapons all feel different, and have different stats, and different attacks.
For example, the staff power attack is a ranged magic blast, while the gauntlets are super fast; nice!
There are so many fun magic weapons; like a fun helmet that makes your kicks launch fireballs; or a sword that launches energy attacks; so fun!

The Dungeons:
The dungeons in Mortal Sin are random, made with Procedural Generation, so you will never know exactly what awaits you each floor; good.
There are traps present, they are big, bold, and red; so it isn’t very likely that they will surprise you, so use those spinning blade traps, spike traps, and scything blade traps as special assistants to your monster cleaving ways!

There are barrels, crates, and pots to smash for coins, and when you kill an enemy, you get some coins,
automatically collected after the kill; your character is a very efficient killer.
Also you can find little chests that spawn after defeated enemy waves, with an item, or rarely, an ability inside.
There are also big, red chests to find with good gear inside; fun.
Don’t forget to search the dead warriors for free loot! They don’t need it anymore!

After every lvl, you get a little hit of healing and repair; cause the game is nice like that.
Every few dungeon lvls, you pick 1 of 3 upgrades, and you can spend gold to reroll the items if you wish.
Sometimes, there is a big orb present, touch it if you dare; it makes the dungeon harder, but grants you some benefit, like better loot lvls; so worth it!

Meta Progression:
Mortal Sin has quite a bit of Meta Progression.
There are many, many classes to unlock as you lvl, and they all play differently, making the play style of the punch heavy monk markedly different from a sword wielder, as they flat out only find gauntlets for punching!
The Forest dungeon is unlocked after clearing Cave – B5 or dungeon B5.
There are also hub venders to unlock; like the potion vender, or the crafting forge.

None of the Meta Progression in Mortal Sin seems necessary to win a run; this makes it markedly very unlike the very Vertical Meta Progression of something like Rogue Legacy, or the seemingly never-ending tide of Vampire Survivors clones being churned out.
The Meta Progression in Mortal Sin here is mostly Horizontal, not Vertical, meaning: huge stacking bonuses to HP, attack, defense, and other abilities are simply not present.
The closest thing I can think of in Mortal Sin that is vertical is the initial restricted access to the Wizard flasks, used to repair gear in the dungeon, but you could just swap the damaged stuff out or use your alternate weapon.

Therefore, I would say that Mortal Sin is firmly a Roguelike, not a Roguelite, as Meta Progression alone here is unlikely to propel you to victory; good.

Controller Support is present, as is good old mouse and Keyboard.
As a First Person Hack and Slash Action RPG, I found Mortal Sin felt much better with mouse and keyboard, so that is what I used in the above video.

Note: This is an Early Access look at Mortal Sin so any bugs or other oddness is not representative of the final product.
Still, Mortal Sin is an incredible Hack and Slash RPG Action Roguelike Dungeon Crawler that absolutely nails the feeling of powerfully cleaving through your foes, and is easily well worth a wishlist and a watch.
