Chapter Information: After leaving the Resistance base behind, Gordon is given a Scout car to drive across the various sandy beaches, ruined highway roads, and crumbling bridges on Highway 17.
During the long journey to Nova Prospekt, Gordon explores various ruined outposts and structures that are littered with Combine forces or Xenian wildlife that attempt to halt his progress over the long car drive.
Most notably, the Combine begins deploying tougher Combine forces for Gordon to fight such as Combine Soldiers, Rollermines, and Gunships which impede his progress at numerous points.
Gordon also fights off a new Xenian bug species known as Antlions which harass him on infested beaches and ruined outposts at every step of his journey.
Eventually, Gordon reaches a railway bridge and is forced to disable the forcefield guarding the structure by navigating underneath the massive setting.
After fighting off numerous Combine Soldiers and eliminating a Gunship, Gordon disables the forcefield and successfully pushes on to Lighthouse Point.
