First-ever completely unengineered solo Hydra kill.

Taking on the most powerful Thargoid Interceptor with a ship fresh off of the assembly line of Shinrarta Dehzra, with no engineering whatsoever - fighting as the guardians would, with guardian gear only.

Special kudos to CMDR Michal17, whose relentless attempts at taking on a Hydra with a minimally engineered KraitMk2 inspired this fight.

Build is a 3s1m gauss, double-flak (top and bottom hardpoints), shieldless alliance chieftain. Reason for 3s1m is that unengineered distro can’t keep up even with those, and small gauss are more distro/damage efficient than medium ones, hence 3s1m is higher SDPS than 2m2s with this build. Lack of ability to engineer a beam for thermal venting also opens up a slot for a second flak - which, as you can see, is exceptionally effective on the hydra ring swarms.

I used premium ammo for most of the fight - noting the fight is (barely) doable also with basic ammo; basic ammo does however literally triple the minimum time on target, making an already complex fight incredibly difficult.

Control scheme is throttle+mouse, 20,000 CPI with minimal in-game mouse sensitivity setting, and moderate relative mouse. (Trying to learn K+M but can’t quite match what I can do with the throttle yet ... will eventually surpass it but in the meanwhile, this is what I know how to fly with.)
