Halo 3 (The Master Chief Collection) - Part 13 FINALE
0The thirteenth and final part of Halo 3. I finish up the campaign in this part. Master Chief has activated Halo, and he must escape before it’s too late.
Master Chief and the Arbiter leave the Tower as the two fight off Flood and Sentinels. The two head for the cliff as they continue to take on Flood and Sentinels. Master Chief and the Arbiter make it back outside, where they find Sergeant Johnson's Warthog. Master Chief takes the wheel, and the Arbiter takes the turret. They reach a massive open structure as they race to escape Halo. After a long race, they eventually make it to the final straight stretch to the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn. They make the jump right into the hangar with the Warthog and crash into it. The Arbiter rushes to the bridge while the Chief inserts Cortana into the hangar control so she can take control of the frigate. Cortana launches the Forward Unto Dawn at full speed with the Chief hanging on to the terminal, but the Warthog flies out and strikes Chief on the way, causing him to fly off the panel. A Scorpion flies out as well, narrowly missing him. The Chief climbs back up to Cortana and eventually makes it back to her, inserting her back into his helmet. UNSC Forward Unto Dawn escapes Installation 08. Halo fires and suddenly explodes, engulfing the Dawn in a blinding white light.
A memorial service for the fallen heroes is held on Earth, with Lord Hood delivering a speech for UNSC Marines present. A flashback is shown of UNSC Forward Unto Dawn's front half entering the Earth's atmosphere and crashing into an ocean, with the Arbiter emerging from it. Lord Hood and the Arbiter shake hands, and the Arbiter and Rtas 'Vadum prepare to return to Sanghelios. The Voi Memorial has the number "117" carved into the metal of the wing as a tribute to Master Chief, as he is presumed dead.
It is revealed that Master Chief is alive and survived the firing of Installation 08, but he is stranded in space with the remaining half of Forward Unto Dawn. It turns out Halo shook itself to pieces and did a number on the Ark. The Portal couldn't sustain itself, and only the first half of the Frigate with the Arbiter made it through as it collapsed. Cortana drops a distress beacon, but acknowledges that it could take years before they are found. The Chief climbs into a cryotube, preparing to enter cryosleep. Cortana confides to him that she'll miss him, but the Chief comforts her, telling her "Wake me. When you need me". Master Chief goes into cryosleep, concluding the Halo trilogy.
