Halo 4 (The Master Chief Collection) - Part 3
0I wrap up Requiem and start Forerunner in Part 3. Master Chief is still fighting his way to the Terminus.
Master Chief takes on the Covenant troops in the small valley and the large Forerunner complex. After long and intense shooting and fighting, Master Chief enters a hallway filled with Forerunner machinery. He takes an elevator to the Terminus, with Cortana finding that this Terminus is just one node of a larger transit grid that spans the entire planet. When a holographic display of a Forerunner glyph appears in front of her avatar, Cortana says it's the Forerunner symbol for Reclaimer. Master Chief asks Cortana if she can get them to the coordinates to UNSC Infinity, but Promethean Knights appear as Cortana accesses the control panel. With a portal appearing behind the Chief, he runs for it and escapes from the Knights.
The portal takes Master Chief and Cortana to a small Forerunner room, and they make their way to a platform inside Requiem’s core. Master Chief inserts Cortana's chip inside the console, where she brings up a holographic panel. She finds that the satellite in the center is amplifying the ship's broadcasts like a relay, with the Chief having an idea that they could use it to respond. She adds that the beams must be taken out for them to contact Infinity, with Cortana opening a portal for them to enter. The Chief exits into a tight canyon and eventually a small valley. He comes across Promethean Crawlers and heads for another small valley after activating a light bridge. Master Chief fights off Promethean Knights and Crawlers, with Cortana picking up information about them. The Chief makes his way to a large cavern, fighting off more Promethean forces. He picks up a garbled transmission from Captain Del Rio over the COM, with Cortana finding that the relay interference is increasing and that they must be getting close to the pylon. Master Chief fights off Promethean Knights, Crawlers, and Watchers. His HUD is distorted by purple static, but this was caused by Cortana. She explains that something about moving through those portals is increasing the load on her systems. The Chief arrives at the pylon, but the entrance is shielded. Master Chief fights off Promethean forces and destroys the power cores shielding the entrance. Master Chief heads for the top of the pylon and picks up another garbled transmission from Captain Andrew Del Rio, where he says, "hailing any survivors of the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn; we're approaching your last known location." Cortana assumes that they intercepted the distress beacon, but the Chief says that it was pulled into Requiem with them. Cortana says that they'll get caught in the gravity well if they try to follow it, so she'll try to warn them while the Chief tries to get the beam down. They arrive at the beam control, where the Chief shuts down the beam array. Cortana says that they must head for the second pylon before they're pulled in. The Chief is returned to his starting point, with Cortana activating a second portal and saying that Infinity is also heading for the second pylon.
