Note: Games-Survival is an old link I am not associated with anymore. I have no clue who uses it for the last year or so.
Hammock bivy by ajillis First Impression:
So far I kinda like it.. I wish I knew more about it? I am assuming it is rated to 250 pounds and feels like it could handle it fine. It is undergoing a rain test which will make my final review and thoughts. Material is ripstop polyester with a waterproofed poly coating all over the inside. This could be a bad thing come summer time in the south with sweating as well as condensation in cool wet climates, time will tell as neither have happened in mid 60's clear weather. The Hammock opens easily and vents well in my opinion once the bugnet is pulled away. The lay is as with all gatherend hammocks, legs to one side and body to the other, crossing the pressure point down by the calves. or should I say, avoiding it. Light weight at 2.6 pounds and a small footprint rolled about 12x6 you will hardly notice this in your bugout bag. The one bridge bar comes in fiberglass pieces with shockcord run down the centers, holding them together within metal caps and rubber feet. If it survives the rain test, will be trying the ground setup and if all works out, it's going in my bag for a bit! Although, I will still carry a rainfly for added shelter beyond the hammock. This is the only hammock Ajillis offers and I have not received replies to emails requesting more info on this product. I don't know if this is a "new" release or first run or temp thing etc etc.. all I know is I got one and so far it was worth the 80 bucks just for being different.
