anyways, yeah. i saw a video of a guy playing the first guitar interlude one day and instantly became uncomfortable at how just that section alone nearly made me tear up out of fucking nowhere like a Little Lame-o Bitch™, and then went and found the full track. i really like this song, and it is among the highly confidential (and suprisingly long, now that i think about it) list of songs that make me tear up every single time (note: most of said songs are exempt from the possibility of being covered. i legit had a hard time doing some parts of this song because my chest kept welling up LOL).

i've always been of the general opinion that people who brazenly talk about how much they exercise are jackasses, so i don't really like talking about the fact that i'm trying to exercise. it often shows in a guy, i think, that they aren't confident in their own masculinity to the point where they need to remind themselves at every second of every day that they aren't weak. i dunno, i'm comfortable enough in my masculinity and straightness to say that i legit like boy bands. fuck you, dude - they're just plain cool. go listen to smap, a japanese one that i really like, and report back on your KNEES for ever doubting me. lol, considering the fact that i love acapella and fun vocal harmonies of any sort (on a technical level, nothing tops the opening choir of the johannes passion - go and listen to that, 'cause it's a fuckin' otherworldly experience), it should come as no surprise that i like that kind of stuff, too.
the coolest people are the people who can own every part of themselves with dignity. i hope that i can, at some point down the line, be fully comfortable with all of the composite elements that make me the guy that i am. the big thing that i have a weird time with is accepting that it is okay to have human emotions. i went "oh shit" a while back, because i realized that i was an idiot for having ever thought that i needed to relinquish my capacity for emotions in order to pursue skill and/or truth - here's why this notion was stupid, just to bully past-me for being an idiot:
separating passions of the flesh from passions of the mind; it's one big thing that i don't know if socrates had properly completed. the desires of the flesh (through passions) and the desires of the mind (through discourse) must be intrinsically linked (not either of these in any hedonistic form, but instead in a form which promotes - well - finding the truth in humanity. that's the point of any anti-rhetoric/oratory stance on philosophy), and the desires of the mind are not made more focused or better through isolation - antithetically, it would actually blind someone to basic humanity. so, here's the big point: nobody can deprive themselves of human emotion while maintaining a virtue that seeks the truth of things that are dependent on said emotions and passions in order to exist [this is basically the thesis of fist of the north star. this is what souther realizes at his death. how did i never clock this???].
