Hardline (what it SHOULD look like)
3This video is just here to show people how this game should look like if run properly. All videos here on YouTube looks like utter CRAP. Most of them have scanlines (varies between the 1 black line/1 non-black line (which is correct) to some utter random stuff like 2 black lines/1 non-black line. Probably caused by the video not being resized properly), some are so dark you can't see shit, most of them aren't even cropped, some doesn't even have the correct aspect ratio, and don't get me started on the BLUR a lot of game videos have.
Why do people do this? They actually think it LOOKS better? Can't be they just don't know better. The choices of scanlines is right there in the setup.exe which I know most, if not ALL of them have used before starting the game.
0-3:38 = no scanlines (my preferred way, I always want to show the clean and original pixels/graphics and not distort it all with scanlines. Doesn't matter if it's a lowres game and have blocky graphics (which scanlines sort of hides a bit).
3:38+ is with scanlines. So if you HAVE to use scanlines, it should look like that, which it doesn't in any video I've seen.
Never mind if you see any screen tearing or hear sound delay, I just quickly installed DOSBox and went with its default settings, which usually sucks as the cycles are wrong. This video was only done to show what the picture should look like if done right. "But screen tearing is a part of the picture and it makes it look bad", like I said - I used the default settings so didn't bother fixing the screen tearing, I only wanted to show the none-scanlined version which no one seems to know or care about + the proper scanlined version.
In case you wonder, YES, the framerate is really low in this game.

So annoying people do this to these types of videos when it's not necessary. Here's the trailer, and as you can see, there's no scanlines: watch?v=AbVsb4RdgBs (but if fails in many other ways anyway)
Worst butchering I've seen of this kind is what people did to all the Toonstruck videos. Luckily after my complaints, the longplay of Toonstruck got re-recorded properly and now looks great: watch?v=xERRV7JmZk8 . So there's at least one good video of this game on YT.

Well they do, I'm so annoyed with people's blindness of how CLEARLY things should be, but to most people, it just passes them right by. It's GAME MURDER I tell ya!
