Hat Trick Hero 2 - Super Nintendo - Intro, Exhibition Match and Penalty Shoot-out Gameplay [4K60]
One full match gameplay showcase along with two penalty shootout matches. A Japanese only release for the SNES based on the Taito arcade series of the same name. Hat Trick Hero 2 was clearly planned as a tie in for the 1994 FIFA World Cup and features all bar one of the 24 teams in the tournament replacing South Korea with Japan, which is rather naughty. Rather than adding some additional teams, not least because England, France, Denmark, Uruguay and Portugal were just some of the major teams who failed to qualify for the tournament.
Hat Trick Hero 2 seems to be loosely based on the 1993 and 1994 arcade games in the series. Known as Taito Cup Finals and International Cup '94 in the western arcades. This version also features some impressive audio samples taken directly from the 1986 song "The Name Of The Game" aka Olé, Olé, Olé We are the Champions! Which plays during the attract footage of the game. Sadly for content id reasons we have removed any footage we captured of the attract scene to be on the safe side.
The SNES isn't known for its great selection of football games, but Hat Trick Hero 2 is a solid game in its own rights with a nice selections of modes. If you want a enjoyable arcade style football game then take a look at this. It does feature super moves, including an instant goal shot, but super moves can be turn off in the options menu as can the background music, if you don't want it playing. Our biggest complain is the CPU Goal Keeper A.I. in the penalty kick mode, which seems to stop pretty much everything kicked at it. The game was set to release in North American under the name Super Soccer Champ 2, but seems to have been cancelled at the last minute for unknown reasons.
