A special look today at the unreleased DICE title hardcore for the Sega Megadrive / Genesis. Which finally got released in 2019 under a new name of Ultracore, it's not clear why the name change, but a generic name like hardcore was likely to be full of legal issue. It was one of many titles cancelled by Psygnosis in a now infamous meeting in 1994, by all account the game was finished when axed. Finally in 2019 it appears Dice agreed some sort of deal with Sony for the rights and Strictly Limited Games and Columbus Circle handled publishing of the Mega Drive version with inin doing the digital releases in 2021. Tonight's stream will be looking at the Japanese Mega Drive release.
