We have solid historical evidence in the Bible of what happens to civilizations that were once great, mighty and powerful that no longer exist. I am certain that the people living in those indomitable kingdoms all said the same things. "This nation is the greatest most powerful nation on earth, nothing can happen to it!"
Yet they are now nothing more than a story we read in world history books, as well as the Bible. The nation of Israel was given more than anyone. They were given all the wealth of the earth, gold and silver in abundance, kings issued from their loins.
God gave them the lands of the heathens, houses they did not build, fields they did not plant, and wells they did not dig. More over God anointed their armies, and personally defended them with mighty angelic hosts, and His right hand and stretched out arm.
Yet no amount of goodness lavished on them made them love God and serve Him more. Instead, they became corrupted and polluted and "praise and worshiped the gods of gold and sliver, wood, and stone. Then God had enough. Having warned them for thousands of years to repent, and turn away from idols to serve the true and living God, they rejected Him for the last time.
They were then turned over to their worst ruthless enemies. Our nation basically is only a carbon copy of what happens when God gives every blessing to a nation. America has become the worst nation of them all, built up on pride, idleness and fullness of bread.
This nation has "risen up as the enemy of God," and still no matter how much we are going down into destruction, the people still bow to political and religious altars. And believe false prophets promising wealth, prestige and honor. They refuse to turn to the true and living God.
However, those that do love Him, let us never forget our God, and remember to sing the Lord's Song in this growing darkness and shine "like the brightness of the firmament" as we await His soon return.
