Lately there has been a big showdown between the evangelical mainstream churches with the government. The evangelicals are standing their ground to keep their church doors open in spite of the mandates to shut them in order to stop the spread of the CV19. They feel that by doing so they are giving up their religious liberties and will never get them back.
In so doing many of these pastors have died from the CV19. Ushers, Bishops, Sunday School teachers are now deceased. They knew about this Virus that is 1,000 times more transmissive than the worst flu.
Yet they thought that by "standing their ground" they would not be affected by it, being protected by God. Hundreds more are now infected with it and counting. The order to stay home is meant to save life. The defiant fight to keep their civil liberties is doing the opposite, and giving the government reason now to shut it all down. Imagine if the Israelites did not stay in their homes the night of the Passover.
What about Rahab. Imagine if a person, or her whole family took it for granted that Joshua's invading army would not kill them along with the rest of the inhabitants of Jericho, and did not stay inside the house? Yet, this defiant attitude is killing off the pastors, and infecting hundreds, and there is no need for any of this to happen.
What God has given to us is "perfect liberty of the children of God," and no one, neither flesh and blood or Satan himself can take it away. Is this Satan's way of taking healthy Christians off the battlefield? Giving their lives away before their appointed time?
Be more concerned about giving up your life for what will ultimately kill you, or render you useless to the Kingdom of God. LIVE for the Lord and be a mighty vessel of great power as we fastly approach the day of His coming. Like King David said, "I will not die but live and declare the works of the Lord!"
