[Helldivers 2] Spore Bursters Explode on Death, Just Like My Last Relationship
Intro Briefing by The Galactic War: • To Pierce The Gloom — Helldivers 2 briefin...
They pulled us off the Automaton line. Didn’t even give us time to scrub the oil out of our armor. One minute I’m gutting a Devastator with a combat knife, the next I’m choking on Gloom spores halfway across the sector. Welcome to Acamar IV. Command says the eggheads on Turing found something—some miracle bug juice that might keep our ships from fusing with the Gloom when we try to punch through it. Sounds like wishful thinking to me. But they’re serious. Serious enough to redeploy the few of us left who didn’t get turned into ash on Malevelon Creek. The mission’s simple:
Hold Turing (protect the nerds)
Hold Achernar Secundus (keep the engineers breathing)
Collect 30 million Rare Terminid Samples from inside Gloom zones
And try not to get turned into paste by the new Spore Burster strain from Fori Prime. Apparently these bastards explode on death. Real helpful. Makes you wonder if Super Earth has a sense of humor. Or if we’re just the punchline. So here we are again—another hellhole, another suicide mission for the greater good. I don’t even remember what peace tastes like. I just know the smell of burnt exoskeleton and recycled oxygen. This isn’t about glory. This isn’t about medals. It’s about holding the line long enough for someone smarter to build something that might—might—get us out of this spiral before the whole galaxy turns into spore soup. Strap in, Helldiver. Gloom’s back. And this time, it followed us home.
