Hello world. I've been wanting to play this game forever! It's never been translated. It's one of the early visual novels by Nitroplus. Been waiting ever since Phantom of the Inferno... Seems unlikely an official release will show up. But with today's technology, maybe some machine assisted translation wouldn't be the worst thing for a novel that's from a robot's perspective?

Anyways! This one took my PC and I a week. You see I wanted to use Stable Diffusion to "enhance" the video, but I need to find a better way to automate things or break it up. I gave up pretty early on, and instead focused on testing out the various rescalers I found I could use in the extras section. I used various ones together depending on which looked best imo, in each scene.
Notable ones:
4x fatal Anime 500000 G
4x UltraMix Smooth
4x ultramix-restore
lollypop
LADDIER1 282500 G
4x Fatality Comix 260000 G
SwinIR 4x
4x UltraSharp
4x NMKD Superscale Artisoftject 210000 G
8x NMKD Superscale 150000 G
4x Valar v1
RealESRGAN x4plus anime 6B
LDSR (OMG SO SLOW; 4 mins a frame)
x4 SmolFace 200k
WaifuGAN v3
4x UltraMix Restore
4x AnimeSharp
4x RealisticRescaler 100000 G
4x NMKD Siax 200k
A ESRGAN Single
4x escale 1000000 G
003 realSR BSRGAN DFOWMFC s64w8 SwinIR-L x4 GAN with dict keys params and params ema
BSRNet
And of course I used Topaz Gigapixel AI/Sharpen AI in a few places. (So fast in comparison... but not wonderful for anime characters.)

The first file I worked with was from the game, 400x300 resolution short opening actually around 15 fps. But after finishing the whole thing basically, I found a 640x480 at 30 fps... So after raging a little, I redid everything with most of the same rescalers.
(Messed up one more time as well, and redid it yet again... haa...)

But, finally the end result was pretty nice looking.
Oh! Right. I used FILM and SVP pro to boost the FPS once again. (No more DAIN for me!) Found FILM as part of a Stable Diffusion plugin. Outputted something like 120 FPS or more originally, and I used the encoders on the result. (Maybe should have done it the other way around, but figured interpolation would work best with the cleanest source.)

I used virtualdub to convert it to 60 FPS, and created a second file at 45 FPS + I used SVP to boost that result to 60 FPS and used parts of the original 60 FPS, and parts of the SVP smoothed video. (Some parts looked better in one video or the other.)

Also was going to do some deflickering, but I think overall it already looks quite nice. You can search for the Hello World opening by Nitroplus to compare the quality that's out there currently. So, this was a nice little enhancement and excuse to test out technology.

Looking forward to playing the actual game now! Got it running on Windows 10! Now for that translation... :X
