Hey yo!
Today I want to to talk to you about why I like to start with CHEAP art supplies.
My main reason for buying cheap art supplies in the beginning is that it gives me perspective.
If you start expensive, you have it EASY. Everything is more likely to go your way.
If you start with a not-so-good brush, you have to learn it a bit. You have to understand what it can and can't do.
Then, when you get that really good brush along the way, you appreciate it, and understand WHAT you are actually paying for. You also learn what was "your fault", and what issues were caused due to the less quality brush.
Now, an important caveat is that you don't want to get TERRIBLE tools that work AGAINST you.
You simply want to get something that does the job for the cheapest price possible.
The key here is DOES THE JOB. This is why with watercolor paper, for example, I would suggest being very carefully. Many cheap papers don't even get the minimum job done.
You can kind of get away with an average brush and paints, but a paper that works against you - man oh man...
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this little video, and I'll talk to you again, really soon!
