So far, Hero Academy 2 is polished enough and pretty playable. It certainly evokes memories of Cards and Castles, another similar F2P game where you take turns summoning units and destroying the opponents' crystals.

The campaign is pretty simple enough such that you can learn the mechanics, and there's not much room to go wrong. Online duels were surprisingly populated enough such that I found a match.

It's hard not to shake off the mobile feel though, as this game is actually F2P on mobile; but you do need a fair amount of currency to unlock extra campaigns and cards. The Steam pack actually comes with some currency and card packs, which you can see in this video exactly what I get!

If you're on the fence about this game, feel free to try out the mobile version and then purchase the Steam version if you'd like to support the devs.
