Hexys Force/ PSP aspect ratio madness (end of the video)
The 4x3 and 16x9 in the descriptions of takes mean "Assuming this is suppose to be 4x3 or widescreen" settings since in 480p (what PSP outputs) the aspect ratios are always anamorphic (meaning you have to know what it is suppose to be and set it on your TV cause there is no way to tell based on the signal).
Just in case you're wondering Overscan enlarges the image by up to 20% in all directions. Why didn't I just use zoom all the way, I hear you ask?
That is because I dont feel like holding the button for that long every single time I change a thing, it saves allot faffing about cause unlike zoom overscan doesnt reset when you change aspect ratio or whatever, and I wanted to have it zoomed in partially anyway.
BTW at the end of the video I show off the poartially zoomed in/adjusted aspect ratio first as I see it on the TV and than cropped in Vegas.
Now I honestly dont see that much of a difference between the partially zoomed and zoomed all the way versions in the final edit, Still it was interesting to see just how much off the aspect ratios are on the PSP component output
