0It's been many a winter later since Hjalmer had married the Warden, Ellia and unexpectedly, he enjoyed It, he loved it, he loved his wife. He was sat in the castle, his brother in the further islands and they secured the ports and land around the castle, quiet and thinking of how much he had changed since his younger years, he felt both proud and...disgusted of himself, disgusted he took so much pride in his ability to take life when instead now he takes pride in the safety he has built for other's lives. Ellia's stomach had been growing for some time now and he held her in his hands, he felt pride and he felt....genuine happiness.
Then the door burst open and his wife was shocked, the guardsmen was pale and said heavy breathed "invaders, samurai and blackstone together"
After a minute of putting together his gear he looked to Ellia and kissed her forehead, "stay safe, keep to the cellar until I fetch you, I'll be back in a time"
"Hjalmer...come back, don't hesitate, ever"
"I'll never flinch, not when they are trying to stop me from breathing air that girls my love for you...after all, there is no rest for old wolves right?" He smiled before turning, his claymore calling to him to be used for action.
The Air was thick and the horizon misty, Hjalmer gathered the men and went out the gate, the samurai would have just landed, and Hjalmer wanted to exploit their current weakness.
It was chaos but it was what Hjalmer anticipated, what he didn't anticipate was his duel with a skilled warrior, an Orochi, blow for blow, cut for cut, blood for blood, they drew to a stalemate, the Orochi retreated when nearly being outnumbered, and had boarded a boat and looked back to Hjalmer, they held one another's gaze until he disappeared into the mist.
The samurai's words from Hjalmers last encounter with their kind rang in his head.
He would know no peace for very long
