Neo's feeling of dread over how Kotohugoshi continues to grow, and with this episode aiming to finish what's left of Kotohugoshi he begins mentally preparing himself for what's to come, expecting things to end tragically...
And while he ultimately does not finish the Arc in this episode, he definitely DOES experience some tragedy, but out of the ashes of a heavy loss a newfound relationship between Hanyuu and "Ouka" blooms... However, even in light of this bittersweet development, Neo/Hanyuu's problems in Onigafuchi are far from finished, especially once a plague suddenly strikes the village...
