Around 39 hours, 55 minutes to complete the game on this mode. I completed about half of the main missions on Very Hard Mode , as is, with no custom settings. After that point I decided to go into Custom difficulty and turn enemy health down to Normal, while keeping the damage I take at Very Hard Mode level. This made the enemies alot less spongey while retaining most of the challenge. I dealt with this in the much harder first game , which I also started on Very Hard Mode, and completed. I wanted to enjoy the game this time as fights were getting very drawn out. I rarely ever levelled up my weapons or sought out better gear. I was also usually under levelled from the reccomendations for the main missions.

Very tough final boss on this difficulty, as well as being 4 levels below the reccomended. Have not really spent time upgrading my weapons either, I think most of them are unlevelled. I found planting acid traps with a specific spacing in the beginning gets early damage. I found this in a vid. Shitty thing about this game, along with FF7 remake, is that you cant save your loadout changes when you respawn. I can take the time to reset skill points, invest in certain skills, however I only have one chance to beat the boss, otherwise I have to reconfigure it each time. This was a huge pain in the ass in FF7 remake on Hard mode too.

The best loadout for my strat would be a trapper ability and quick trap setting, more traps able to be set, etc, but it takes long to reset skill points and set this up, it also resets my valor.
