Horsing around with the King's Troop 20.04.12
The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery have been putting the finishing touches to their preparation for this years summer Ceremonial season.
The Troop was inspected by General Officer Commanding Household and London District ahead of this weekend's Gun Salute in honour of the Queens Birthday.
To achieve such a grand spectacle however takes hours of preparation. Behind every groomed mane or pair of polished boots lie hours of hard work, dedication and of course early mornings.
The Summer is always a busy time for the troop, however over the coming months there will be increased pressure - as the eyes of the world turn to London for the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic Games.
After the 41 Gun Salute rehearsal the Troop advanced in Review order and were given permission to lead the guns back to their barracks in order to begin preparations for their next outing for the Queens Birthday.
When the Salute will be fired for real and the sound of the Guns of the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery will echo through the capital.
