Hoshi Tsuba / Starwing Paradox Taito Type X4 TTX4 Arcade Game 4K
Hoshi Tsuba / Starwing Paradox Taito Type X4 arcade game demo play through. I managed to make it render natively @ 4k resolution. There's no sound in attract mode! I'm sure you could turn it on, but i didn't work out how.
The game works on a standard pc if you just dump the game folder from the original unit, AND the D drive contents. This game was dumped from my original unit. It works out of the box with an xbox gamepad, no IO wrapper needed. I guess that's how they tested the game. I think you use the S key to credit up and F11 will full screen the game. It gets a bit frantic playing with the xbox controller because you need to use both sticks and shoulder buttons for navigation, and then shoot with triggers, so you're constantly dealing with 6 buttons. Maybe i'm just too old and fat and my brains too slow. At least you can play it though.
The problem is, it's an online multiplayer only game. There's no single player campaign, aside from what you see in this video, which is the free trial mission that teaches you the controls. It still lasts for around 10 minutes, so you get a good feel for the game at least. It would be awesome to have a server for this, but i highly doubt anyone will spend the time for such a niche game. Feel for the owners of the original dedicated cabinets, they're awesome, but now basically useless. This game has a really cool atmosphere to it.
It has a second screen that you can see me drag into view, sometimes you have to press a button on that screen to progress the game. It sits on a small LCD to the side on the original machine.
The hardware specs on the original machine are an I7 4th Gen cpu and a Nvidia 1080 GPU. It requires a little horsepower to run it @ 1080p. That's why the hoshi tsuba TTX4 units sell for more money, they've got a 1080GTX GPU in them.
