How did my seemingly impossible takeoff of the Boeing 747 from 527m Lukla Airport's runway go?
Lukla Airport, also known as Tenzing-Hillary Airport, is a small airport located in the town of Lukla in the Solukhumbu district of Nepal. It is considered one of the most dangerous airports in the world due to its 527-meter runway, steep gradient, and the surrounding mountainous terrain.
Landing and Takeoff on Lukla Airport is always challenging. A pilot must be experienced and confident enough to operate aircraft on Lukla Airport. I am lucky enough to try take off from Lukla Airport on a Boeing 747 - 8 variant on my Microsoft Flight Simulator.
