How Does Damage Work Within Xenoblade Chronicles DE?

Within this video, I outline the formula used to calculate how damage works in Xenoblade Chronicles DE. I provide examples throughout the video making it easy to understand so anyone can look to get the max amount of damage possible.
In the later of the video, I also provide my own calculations on what I believe the strongest single hit is in the game utilising Reyn and many other multipliers. This damage may not be entirely accurate as there are many different ways to get high damage possibilities.

Setup and Strategy
The damage value I show in this video is completely possible to achieve all be it downright annoying as the stars would need to allign to be able to achieve it. Below is everything that would be required.
Reyn - (Damage dealer with his sword drive and other physical enhancement arts. Spirit Skill Tree to boost strength)
Required Arts
1. Sword Drive - Main damage dealer move
2. Magnum Charge - Large 4.8x increase to sword drive. Must be activated before entering chain attack
3. Beserker - 240% increase in strength when active
Melia - (Buff and support unit to apply large damage increase. Equipped with Phys Res Down Gem)
1. Summon Flare - Grants 20% strength buff per elemental. Summon Copy helpful for getting enough
2. Hypnotise - Places enemy in sleep giving guaranteed crit and stackable on top of topple pausing timer
3. Spear Break - Required for topple and chain attack
4. Starlight Kick - Required for topple
5. Power Effect - Required for chain attack
6. Burst End - Reduces enemy Phys Res by 10%
Dunban - (Only there to provide peerless buff and other advantages. Must die to activate some other skill buffs after activating peerless. Equipped with Phys Res Down Gem)
1. Peerless - Grants huge AOE strength boost which persists on allys after death
Skills and Skill links:
1. Invincible Hero - Boosts Strength by 10% at max HP
2. Battle Stance - 75% chance to boost strength by 15% for 30 secs
3. Revenge - 50% strength up when ally (Dunban) is defeated
4. Solitary Fighter - 25% strength up when ally ^ is defeated
5. Telethia Killer - 50% bonus damage on telethia with an aura active
6. Awakening Strike - 50% bonus damage on enemy suffering from sleep
7. Ultimate Teamwork - Boosts chain attack damage by 25%
8. Power Of The Moon - Increases strength by 15% at night
9. Nutritous! - Increases strength by 50
10. Pretty Stars! - Increases Strength by 15% at night
11. Ultimate Strike - Increase critical damage by 20%
12. Battle Charcter - Increases attack power of weapon by 10%
Other
1. Chain Attack - 700% damage when on x5 multiplier of a chain attack
2. Topple Plus VI - 100% Bonus damage on a toppled enemy
3. Critical Hit - 25% boost for a crit, 50% bonus when toppled, 70% with above skill
4. Back ATK Plus VI - 100% bonus damage from behind enemy
5. V High Tension - Extra 20% chain attack damage when at very high tension
6. Attack Plus VI - Boosts max possible damage by 50%
7. Phys Res Down VI - 30% chance of lowering phys res by 25%. Stackable
8. Strength Up VI - 2 Required to give max strength boost

LVL - 86 - 87 - Means that you can be 10 levels higher to get bonus damage
Phys Res - 0%

4. Melia - Spear Break (Red)
5. Reyn - Sword Drive (Red)
