How The B-2 Stealth Bomber Works? #shorts
The B-2 stealth bomber can pass and bomb the anti aircraft defenses without being caught, but hiding a giant bomber like B-2, is not an easy task! In order to keep the plane undetectable, engineers had to reinvent previous models, and start from scratch. Unlike its predecessors, the stealth bomber was designed using top-of-the-line supercomputers, the entire B-2 has no flat surfaces, making it impossible for radar to accurately “bounce off” it, to receive coordinates. This is further enhanced by the radar absorbing materials, or Ram, from which the aircraft is constructed. Despite having a 172-foot wingspan, the B-2’s radar signature is an astounding 0.1 square meters. One thing to be noted here is that the B-2 would lose most of its stealth capabilities if its engines were mounted to its wings like conventional planes. Therefore its 4 engines are buried inside the wings, with special openings to clear exhaust. Beyond radar, the B-2 also has onboard systems that cool emissions to reduce infrared tracking, and it’s also extremely quiet, so quite that most observers on the ground won’t know that there’s anything in the sky to look for.
