hey guys what's going on it's the
digital tutor here with another
step-by-step tutorial
in today's video i'm just going to show
you how you can access the
marketplace on facebook uh which is
sort of like a buy in and sign in
section on facebook
and don't forget to
subscribe to the channel i do upload
tutorials daily neat tips and tricks and
step-by-step tutorials for everything
and anything tech and digital related
so let's get started what we need to do
is come across to
facebook.com and
log into your account and once you're in
your account there's actually two ways
to do this
now uh the first way if you've got the
most up-to-date version of facebook
you will see at the top in the middle is
actually an icon here
and that's actually the marketplace icon
if you go ahead and give that a click
that's going to take you to the
marketplace and to use it it's fairly
simple
all you need to do is the search bar
here you type
what you're looking to buy um
it could be anything you want really
just put fish and rods
and you'll see it's going to come up
with a group of listings
generally you you can change your
filters
you know for how far away the people are
it's kind of like gumtree um you can go
on here and list items for sale for free
and obviously you meet up with the
person you buy the item
um so you can see that's how the results
come up
if you want to contact someone all you
need to
say i wanted to buy this rod here
for 50 pound mitchell premium
i'm going to go ahead and click on the
listing
it's going to give me a bit of
information so the condition
is going to give me a bit of a
description uh the location
of the item and what i need to do if i'm
interested
you can see this other information if
you want to click on their profile
and you know see who they are uh
but if you want to go ahead and message
this person see if they've still got
that and if you're interested
go ahead and click this icon down here
message seller
and it's going to come up in a
marketplace style so
you would just basically ask the
question you want there's a couple of
predetermined questions which are
commonly
asked but if you wanted to ask your own
question all you do is come down to the
box here
get rid of that and you type whatever
you want to ask
so i is
this still available
so you can do it that way or if one of
the
questions you want to ask is up here you
just literally click and it's going to
pre-fill the box
click send message down here and that's
going to send a message to
the seller and they're going to get back
to you with an answer
so the second way to access the
marketplace is
literally from the home page
you just want to come across to the
search bar in the top left hand corner
and type marketplace
now with this one you do get
a couple of groups but the one you need
to click on is this one with the green
icon
and it says facebook shortcuts facebook
marketplace discover buy and sell items
in your community
some of these like this one is actually
a group set up by someone that's not
operated by facebook
that's just a group that someone set up
so make sure you click the green
one at the very top here
and that's going to take you through to
the marketplace
one little tip for how you can tell that
you're on the actual facebook
marketplace and not one that's been
created by someone if i go back and i go
on to this one which is a group that's
been created by someone
you will see the layout is very very
different it's our skin
you know obviously you have to click
join group get accepted
and do it that way whereas the actual
facebook marketplace you click on and
you'll see you've got all your options
um if you're new to facebook
and you try and miss something on
facebook on the marketplace to sell
generally you'd have to do some sort of
verification
just where you're a new person on
facebook and you're selling
uh they like to do a security check with
you
um just heads up there so i hope you
