How to Add friends on your Steam Deck (Friend Codes)
4Adding friends on your Steam Deck is similar to how you’d do it on the desktop Steam client. Here’s how to add friends directly from your Steam Deck:
1. Open the Steam Menu:
Press the Steam button on your Steam Deck to open the main menu.
2. Navigate to Friends & Chat:
Scroll down and select Friends & Chat from the menu.
3. Search for Friends:
In the Friends & Chat window, you’ll see an option to Add a Friend at the top or click the “Add Friend” button next to the search bar.
You can search for your friend using their Steam username, email address, or friend code.
4. Send a Friend Request:
After finding your friend in the search results, click on their profile.
Click on the Add as Friend button to send a friend request.
5. Accepting Friend Requests:
If someone sends you a friend request, you’ll see a notification in the Friends & Chat section.
Open the notification, review the request, and click Accept to add them to your friends list.
6. Using the Steam Mobile App or Desktop Client (Optional):
You can also add friends using the Steam Mobile app or desktop client, and they will automatically appear on your friends list on your Steam Deck.
