If you want to know how to add kits to a Minecraft server, this is the video for you! We show you exactly how to add kits to your Minecraft server. We even show you how to give new players kits when they join your Minecraft server. This is all done using EssentialsX. EssentialsX does a lot more than just kits, but in my opinion, it is the easiest and best way to create kits on a Minecraft server.

About this video: This video shows you exactly how to add kits to a Minecraft server. We do this using EssentialsX kits. EssentialsX does a lot more than add kits, but it does kits very well allowing you to create them in-game, and even give new players kits on first join. Because of this, EssentialsX is the best way to add kits to a Minecraft server in my opinion, so let's go ahead and jump right on into how you can create kits on a Minecraft server.
First and foremost, we need to install EssentialsX on your server. EssentialsX also requires Vault in order to work. You can find both EssentialsX and Vault linked in the description above. Once those are on your server, and your server has been started up, you can click on the 'Essentials' folder in your plugins folder. There you will have a 'kits.yml'. This is where you can code kits.
There are a few example #Kits that you can look at. Some of these have enchantments, names with color codes, etc. on them. You can see how to do add these using these examples. Now, you don't have to code kits in this way, but it is the best way to do custom color codes on your Minecraft server kits. If you don't want to use the kits.yml though, you can create kits in-game.
Once you are on your server, you will need to give yourself OP to create kits. Doing this is very easy. Just do /createkit KITNAME TIMEDELAY. This will create a kit out of whatever is your inventory at the time the kit was created. You can then access the kit in-game with the /kit command formatted like /kit KITNAME. The time delay mentioned above is the time in between players being able to redeem kits. It is worth noting though that mods can get any kits at any time assuming they are OP'd. To give other players kits, use the essentials.kits.KITNAME permission.
At this point, you now know how to create kits on your Minecraft server, but to give new players kits on first join, open up the 'config.yml' in the Essentials folder. Then, scroll all the way to the bottom of this file. Here you will see 'Essentials Spawn' settings. You must have the Essentials Spawn add-on in order to do a kit on first join. Once you have found it, find the 'kit' setting. Next to it, by default, the 'tools' kit will be there. You can change this to whatever kit that you want to give your players on first join.
And there you have it! You now know exactly how to add kits to your Minecraft server. If you have any questions or issues getting kits on your Minecraft server, please let me know in the comment section down below, and be sure to give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel if you haven't already. It really helps us out, and it means a ton to me. Enjoy your new #EssentialsX kits on your Minecraft server!
