How to Add Non Steam APPS or Games on Steam Deck Game Mode (Easy Method)
Adding non-Steam apps or games to your Steam Deck in Game Mode is a straightforward process. Here’s how you can do it:
Switch to Desktop Mode:
Press the STEAM button to open the quick menu.
Navigate to Power and select Switch to Desktop.
Open Steam in Desktop Mode:
Once in Desktop Mode, open the Steam application.
Add a Non-Steam Game:
In Steam, go to the Games menu at the top.
Select Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library.
A window will pop up with a list of programs. If your game or app is not listed, click Browse to find it manually.
Select the executable file of the game or app and click Add Selected Programs.
Return to Gaming Mode:
Close the Steam application.
Use the Return to Gaming Mode shortcut on the desktop to switch back to Game Mode.
Enable Proton Compatibility (if needed):
In Game Mode, find your newly added game or app in your library.
Right-click on it, go to Properties, then Compatibility.
Check the box for Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool and select a Proton version.
