I spent some time messing around in this demo and kept getting softlocked whenever trying to activate the ending in the intended way, after some testing I figured out that ignoring the front door first then checking the backdoor and then rechecking the front door and making sure to unlock the door from the inside seems to cure any issues related to softlocking the demo. However, I still don't know what exactly is required to activate the ending other than grabbing the basement key, getting the basement photo and activating all 3 "jump scares". I'm not going to bother properly reviewing this demo as it's quite a mess.

Changing settings related to sound effects and sensitivity seems to do nothing in-game and I couldn't for the life of me get a stable fps even on the lowest settings. The game is incredibly motion-sickness and you seem to have your view reset whenever hitting any sort of incline. Other than that my only gripes are, that the hints are a tad bad, such as the hints on controls seem to be incorrect. Whenever I saw static at first I thought it would give me a game-over but static seems to be implying a paranormal object rather than Mark Slender is near. The difficulty settings don't make any sort of difference, you can play the entire demo without the flashlight and you probably don't even need to use the RMB function to beat the demo, you also cannot see how much flashlight battery is left nor how to even use batteries you pick up, if you run out fully then pickup batteries your flashlight will work again but seemingly emit no light except for when RMB is held. On my first playthrough, I managed to find a Note lying around on a wall somewhere but on every other playthrough I had I never saw it again, there appear to be RNG events that happen but they don't offer anything other than a light exploding and the upstairs bathroom being unlocked for seemingly no reason. Lastly, I didn't even notice until reading about it but at first I thought the 3 "jump scares" at the end were just a 2d black silhouette on closer inspection it's actually the Slender: The Arrival model which is odd cause Haunt had it's own unique Slender model that IMO was way cooler and scarier than the one from The Arrival.
