How to benchmark your NVMe SSD - test speeds easily
In this video I'm showing you how to benchmark your NVMe SSD. This can be useful to ensure that your new NVMe SSD is running at the right speed. After all, you've just paid all that money and you don't want to then be running at slow speeds. So follow these steps after you've installed the drive to make sure it's running at the right speed.

Is your M.2 NVMe port slower than you realise? Not all M.2 ports give equal speeds https://youtu.be/QDAjO-RtbuQ

Then use that to run synthetic tests on your drive to see if its reaching the speeds you expect. If it isn't then there might be an issue and it could simply be that you're using the wrong port or have too many drives installed.
Running a benchmark like this on your drive will also be useful over time if you're worried that your drive appears to be slowing down. Just keep in mind that if you are transferring a lot of small files then you will find they sometimes take time to transfer. But also if you get half the speed you were expecting then that's clearly an issue!
