By default, whenever you purchase a Squarespace website the payment is set to auto-renew. While this is convenient, it makes it easy to forget to cancel if you ever want to do that, or to get caught off guard by a major price increase after it's already too late. Thankfully, Squarespace makes it easy to turn off the auto renew feature, putting the control over renewing your website solely in your court.
Now let's walk through the steps to cancel your Squarespace website auto renewal.
Step 1. Open a web browser, navigate to www.Account.Squarespace.com, and then log in to your Squarespace account if prompted. You'll land on your Squarespace home screen.
Step 2. Find the Squarespace site you want to cancel renewal for, and then click the ellipses associated with that site. A menu will open.
Step 3. Click "Billing" in this menu. You'll land on the Billing screen.
Step 4. Make sure "Subscriptions" is selected in the menu on the left side of the screen, and then click "Website" in the list of active subscriptions on the right side of the screen. The Website Billing screen is displayed.
Step 5. Navigate down to the Plan section, and then click to toggle off "Renew Automatically." A message will be briefly displayed letting you know what date your Squarespace website subscription will expire on. Your Squarespace site will be active and available through that date.
