How to Change Monitor your Games Open on in STEAM Settings (Best Method)
By default, most games will launch on your primary monitor. While there's no single, one-size-fits-all setting in the standard Steam client, there are a few highly effective methods you can use to change which monitor your games open on.
The Best Method: Using Steam Big Picture Mode
Steam's Big Picture Mode is a full-screen, TV-friendly interface that includes a specific setting for this purpose. This is the most reliable method that works for most games and doesn't require you to change your main Windows display settings.
Launch Big Picture Mode: Click the Big Picture Mode icon in the top-right corner of the Steam client (it looks like a rectangle with two arrows pointing outward).
Go to Display Settings: Once in Big Picture Mode, navigate to Settings (the gear icon) and select Display.
Set Your Preferred Display: You will see a "Preferred Display" option. Click on this and select the monitor you want your games to launch on.
Launch the Game: From now on, as long as you launch a game through Big Picture Mode, it will open on the monitor you selected. When you exit Big Picture Mode, your original primary monitor is restored.
