How to Disable STEAM on START UP for PC (Best Method)
There are a couple of ways to disable Steam from starting automatically when you turn on your computer, but the best and most reliable method is to use Steam's own built-in settings. This ensures the change is correctly applied and avoids potential conflicts with other startup programs.
Best Method: Using Steam's Settings
This method is quick, easy, and works on both Windows and macOS.
Open Steam: Launch the Steam client on your computer.
Go to Settings:
On Windows, click on "Steam" in the top-left corner and then select "Settings."
On macOS, click on "Steam" in the top-left corner and then select "Preferences."
Navigate to the Interface Tab: In the settings window, select the "Interface" tab from the menu on the left.
Disable the Startup Option: Look for the option that says "Run Steam when my computer starts."
Uncheck the box next to this option.
Save Changes: Click "OK" or close the window. The change should be saved automatically.
After unchecking this box, Steam will no longer launch automatically when you start your computer.
