How to Change Resolution on Xbox One & Remove Black Bars (4k Tutorial)
Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
Go to Profile & system - Settings - General - TV & display options.
Select Resolution and choose the option that best fits your display. Your Xbox console should automatically select the setting that matches your TV’s native resolution.
If you don’t see the resolution for your TV, make sure to set TV connection to Auto detect.
If you have an Xbox One S or Xbox One X, and your TV supports 120Hz over HDMI, you can also change the refresh rate to 120Hz for 1080p and 1440p resolutions
