How to Change the iPhone Root Password with SSH

iPhone (and iOS in general) default root password is 'alpine', to change it you will need to SSH into the iOS device and run the familiar 'passwd' command for both the root user and for the mobile user. This video demonstrates both, or follow the guide here:

You will need the iOS devices IP address and an SSH client to do this. You can learn more about using SSH to connect to an iPhone here:

This applies to all iOS devices that are running an SSH server that have not had the default passwords changed. Typically this only applies to jailbroken devices.
