How to Change the MTU Settings on PS5 Pro for Less Lag Spikes (Easy Tutorial)
Changing the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) settings on your PS5 Pro can potentially reduce lag spikes and improve network stability. Here’s how you can adjust the MTU settings on your PS5:
Steps to Change MTU Settings on PS5 Pro:
Open the Settings Menu:
Turn on your PS5 and go to the Settings menu by selecting the gear icon in the top-right corner of the home screen.
Navigate to Network Settings:
Scroll down and select Network.
Set Up an Internet Connection:
If you're not already connected, choose Set Up Internet Connection. If you're already connected, skip to the next step.
Choose Your Connection Type:
Select either Wi-Fi or LAN Cable (Ethernet) depending on your connection type.
Select Advanced Settings:
After selecting your network, choose Advanced Settings.
Adjust MTU Settings:
In the Advanced Settings menu, find the MTU Settings option and select it.
Change the MTU setting to 1450 (the default is usually 1500, but lowering it to 1450 can reduce packet fragmentation and might help with lag).
Save and Test the Connection:
After adjusting the MTU setting, press OK to save the changes.
Go back to the main Network menu and select Test Internet Connection to see if the new MTU setting improves performance.
