Let’s say you bought a used PS2 off eBay, or you hooked up component cables to the system and forgot to swap the display in the PS2's settings menu. Maybe you lost the old cables for your system. Whatever the case is, you now have a PS2 that turns on and works but won't display. So here's what you do:

-Make sure there isn't a game disc in the system, and hit the power button on your PS2 (this works with fat or slim models).
-Wait about 10 seconds for the system to boot up into the browser.
-After waiting 10 or so seconds, hit: Down, X, Down, Down, Down, X, Right, X. If done properly, after a couple of seconds, the display should pop onto your screen.

Remember: Boot the system up without a game, wait about 10 seconds, then hit: Down, X, Down, Down, Down, X, Right, X.
