1) Update the Instagram app to the latest version
2) Open Instagram and log in to your account
3) Tap on the DM icon on the top right.
4) You will be able to see a list of online friends
5) You will also be able to see Active X hours ago
6) You can turn this feature by going to your Settings page.
7) Go to Privacy and select Activity Status
8) Make sure the toggles are turned on
9) Now you can come back and see the active status of other friends as well.
