Steps:

- Start by making sure your bluetooth mouse is turned on and is not already connected to another device. Then, on your iPhone, open the settings app.

- In settings, scroll down and tap on ‘accessibility’.

- In ‘accessibility’ , select ‘Touch’ in the physical and motor section.

- In the touch settings, open ‘assistive touch’.

- Scroll down and tap on ‘devices’.

- Select ‘bluetooth devices’.

- Select your mouse from the list of bluetooth devices, it may take a minute for it to appear.

- You may have to enter a pin, if you are doing this with an Apple magic mouse like I am, the default pin is ‘0000’. Tap pair after.

- Your mouse is now connected, but moving the mouse won’t do much yet. Now enable the assistive touch toggle.

- A cursor will now appear for your mouse as well as a customizable button that will be displayed at all times. You can now click and scroll around your iPhone. To scroll , hold down the left click and move the mouse up or down, the normal scroll with a mouse wheel or swiping on the magic mouse wont work.

- Go down to customise actions and you can choose what tapping the button does, as well as what to do when its double tapped or long pressed. The options i find best are: a single tap goes to the home page, a double tap opens the app switcher, and long press opens the control center. That will allow you to easily go home, switch apps and access controls with your mouse.

- Its possible to assign different actions to different buttons on your mouse if you want to..Back in the assistive touch settings, you can scroll down to ‘pointer devices’ and tap on devices.

- Select the mouse and then tap ‘customise additional buttons’ .

- Now press any button on your mouse that you would like to assign an action to, such as the right click or scroll click button.

- Now select from the list what command you want to happen when you use that button on your mouse.

- Your mouse should now be set up and working properly, but there are some visual options we can change. In the accessibility options, under the ‘physical and motor’ settings, tap on ‘pointer control’.

- Here you can change the color of the pointer, increase its size and also customise the scrolling speed.
