Steps:

- In the google maps app, tap your profile icon from the top right of the screen.

- Open ‘settings’ from the popup menu.

- Choose the first option in settings called ‘navigation’.

- Under the ‘sound & voice’ of navigation you can choose to mute voice navigation by Tapping ‘muted’.

- You can also choose to only hear ‘alerts’ if you’d prefer.

- Voice navigation is now disabled, if you want to enable it again come back here and select ‘unmuted’.
