How to Connect Controller to PC to Use in STEAM GAMES (Windows 11 Tutorial)
Connecting a controller to your PC for use in Steam games is straightforward. Here are the steps:
Connect Your Controller:
If you have an Xbox 360, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X controller, you can connect it via USB or Bluetooth.
For PlayStation 4 (PS4) controllers, use either USB or Bluetooth.
Switch Pro controllers also work via USB or Bluetooth.
Additionally, various Logitech and HORI controllers are supported.
Open Steam Settings:
Launch Steam on your PC.
Click on “Steam” at the top-left corner, then select “Settings”.
Configure Controller Settings:
In the Settings window, go to the “Controller” tab.
Click the “General Controller Settings” button.
Enable support for your connected controller type:
Xbox 360/One/Series X: These controllers are usually supported by most games without any additional configuration.
PlayStation (PS4) and Switch Pro: Enable “Configuration Support” for these controllers to map them as Xinput/Xbox controllers. This ensures compatibility with more games.
Customize Layout and Play:
Once your controller is set up, exit Big Picture Mode (if you’re using it).
Right-click on the game you want to play with your controller in your Steam library.
Select “Properties” and go to the “Controller” section.
Override the default input settings for the game and check the Steam Input status.
